F.A.Q
Speaking Experience:
Since 2014, I’ve been an educational and motivational speaker with Skills Canada – Nova Scotia, visiting over 95% of high schools and more than 50% of middle schools across the province. I’ve delivered more than 1,500 presentations to student groups of all sizes. I’ve also emceed corporate events, facilitated conferences + panels, spoken at matriculation ceremonies, and run workshops on the topic of speaking with confidence.
Writing and Poetry:
Since 2015, I’ve been writing and performing poetry at local slam competitions, speakeasies, middle & high schools, and high-profile events such as the Winter Canada Games Closing Ceremonies, the Skills Canada National Competition Opening Ceremonies, and corporate events like Deloitte’s Awards Night. In 2017, I qualified for the Halifax Slam Poetry Team and, in 2021, I performed an original piece as a contestant on ABC’s The Bachelorette. My debut free-verse poetry collection, Under the Big Oak Tree, was published in 2023.
The Write Your Story presentation is available to schools across Nova Scotia. Certain locations outside of HRM may have limited dates available based on travel logistics as I’m based out of Halifax.
The Write Your Story presentation is available October through June each school year. Availability outside of HRM however is dependant on available travel dates.
Yes! It will just depend on the timeline between request, booking and the presentation. Timelines for shipping are typically between 2-4 weeks (potentially more for rural areas).
Payment options: In-person or mailed payment via cheque or cash, or online via bank transfer or credit card (link provided with the invoice).
Invoices are sent upon booking confirmation. No deposit is required. Payment for the presentation is due within two weeks of the scheduled date (a reminder will be sent). Book orders, if applicable, must be paid at the time of ordering.
Plenty! The presentation has a great balance of interactive elements, storytelling, and yes— live spoken word poetry.
Yeah… life’s funny. A little story of how it all came together is part of the Write Your Story presentation. With a poem and all!
